I have a friend who learned to swim when he was 41 years old. He picked up the phone book and called this lady from the yellow pages. It was a 800 number. He was in NY and the lady was in California. But she told him on the phone that next month she would be in the Virgin Islands teaching people how to swim and giving scuba diving lessons.

He made the decision to go to the Virgin Islands and meet up with her so that he can take swimming lessons. He learned how to swim and four years later he became certified in Scuba Diving.

At that age many people are close to throwing in the towel. He did not. He just kept on moving no matter how difficult it was.

There is an old saying that age does not matter. Successful people do what unsuccessful people will not do. Not someone who took a course in swimming but someone who has swam and other people to swim too.
